MARYAN MEHLHORN presents a new design group finished in innovative natural materials. This sustainable collection replaces the polyamide which was previously used with plant-based raw materials originating from 100% renewable sources. This innovative material is 25% less harmful to the environment and 100% free from crude oil. The environmentally friendly, patented production process enables 25% less water usage and 20% less CO2 emissions. The yarn is made from castor oil and does not come from crops used for food or animal feed. Planting this 100% renewable resource requires neither large amounts of water nor agricultural land that could be used for growing food. Castor oil is derived from the seeds of the castor bean plant, Ricinus communis. The design is also linked to the sustainable idea that “less is more in the long term”: clear silhouettes in classic black and natural moss green.
